Make sure the safe is closed. The night crew has reported that our safe has been left wide open twice over the last week and a half. Thank you for our night crew for closing it and letting us know. Closers please, please make sure that you check it before leaving.
Till counting procedures. First of all, I would like to thank our counter folks for doing such a stellar job of being so accurate in our tills! Last month we were getting kind of sloppy and were almost $5 off every day; this month well under $2 off, a improvement!!! Thank you and keep up the good work!
Handling new customers. Rob would really appreciate when you are helping a new customer that you ask them where they heard of us. We spend quite a bit of money annually on various advertising and Rob would really like to know how they discovered us. It helps us know what is working and what is not.
Another thing, please offer them and anyone in their group a cookie for coming in. This will help introduce them to additional product and will also foster goodwill. Lastly, please give them and extra stamp or two on their card just for coming in. Don’t forget to explain how our stamp program works (every loaf, every 6 rolls or buns or every $5 on miscellaneous sweets generates stamps. Please also explain that redemptions are for loaves and rolls/buns only – never for cookies or any other sweets unless personally agreed to by Rob).
By showing interest in them we hope that they will be coming back again and again!
Farmers Markets start this Saturday!! Kenny and Sam Holen are off to start our season and we are wishing them great success!! The Lakes Area Farmers Market in Detroit Lakes will start slowly but will build greatly. We anticipate that June 5th will be our first Tuesday market there. The Red River Market in downtown Fargo I believe starts on July 14th. Why they don’t start earlier I really don’t know, but I do know that this market went up 57% from our first year so we are hoping to build on that. (No, it’s not going up anywhere near that again!)
Shredding recipes is something Rob is contractually obligated to do. He has discovered recipes in the trash and is asking politely that regardless of what recipe it is that it goes directly to the shred pile in his office. Thank you.
